It’s a fair exchange. I like it.
Sometimes though I like to get a little decadent with it. Surely I’m not the only one who likes to “treat” themselves once and a while to an infused pre-roll or blunt?
Am I?
Well, for Valentines the menu was Oregon coast shrimp and Chinese sausage fried rice with steamed Bok choy and a vegan chocolate turtle cheesecake and a glass-tipped 2g live rosin infused beeeeee-LUNT SOOOOOOOOON!
What Do Piff Stix Bring to the Table?
Indoor grown Jokerz infused with live rosin for a total of 566.29mg/pkg of THC baby, which according to the label is 40 servings worth, although I think these things are mostly for regulators because I smoked this in way less than 40 goes.
In terms of Piff Stix, this was my first one. With infused blunts the highs seem to always come on a little different. This particular high with these takes a while. You got to be patient. It’s a high revving inline-six Japanese hero bike, not a Harley. The torque curve is longer and broader and isn’t as low-down kidney-punching.
How Strong Are Piff Stix?
The high builds slowly and progressively until it’s screaming at 15,000 RPMs in a way that is both scary and seductive at the same time. The noise is angelic. The tactical interaction with metal box containing damn nearest to mechanical perfection that has ever existed in mass produced form.
That’s kind of how the Piff Stix infused 2-gram blunt lifts off. In fact I’m getting to the point where trying to stay focused through an entire paragraph is becoming challenging so I’m going to have to take a time out and come back to this review at another time.
[intermission]Okay, picking back up where we left off. I got lost at intermission and couldn’t find my way back. I guess that’s a good way to say these blunts are not for productivity purposes; they’re just too intense and Jokerz is too physical to be ignored.
This track by Trilucid was on repeat as I composed this review because that’s the feeling you get with rosin infused blunts. You’ve got to embrace the intensity and the trajectory.
The overall construction of the blunt was short but quite large in diameter, capped off with a gorgeous glass tip and metal filter. The large size of the glass tip gives the smoke plenty of time to cool off
There is plenty of glass to hold on to and pass around, which was nice. No floppy broken dick shit here, this thing is TORQUED.
The blunt lit easily and burned evenly. It was less oily and smoky than the Portland Heights Moonrock Blunt, and also a little softer hitting than the rosin infused Highland Provisions I’ve come to know and love. Even Decibel Louds are a bit more oily than this Piff Stix appeared to burn.
But this Piff Stix is probably the shortest fattest of the abovementioned infused options and it’s also not kief dipped or kief rolled, which is what produces a lot of that extra smoke on some infused options, although how much of that external kiefy goodness gets sucked in and up through the joint is a question I’ve pondered for a while now.
To me this is more of a Labor Day treat than an Anniversary Night capstone kind of smoke. Construction is great. Glass tube with cork and exceptional glass mouthpiece are very nice luxuries to have when paying $30 for a single bee-lunt.
2 Grams of Jokerz, Please
Praise be upon Christopher Lynch, the “Pavé Prince”, the “Grape Gas Gatsby”, the “Blue Lobster Bigalow, for breeding the Jokerz strain of which this blunt is filled with.
Everything that he put out through Compound Genetics and everything he’s putting out now at Cypher Genetics [cough would some Oregon living soil nerds get their hands on some Blue Lobster please and thank you cough cough] is impressive.
Despite being a couple more months than I’d like past harvest date the flower smoked smooth and unoffensively. However knowing Jokerz is itself a cross of White Runtz and Jet Fuel Gelato, and having smoked both, particularly the gassier Jet Fuel Gelato I was expecting more flavor.
But it’s a product segment that is pretty niche and probably doesn’t move as much volume as regular prerolls or bulk flower or even extracts I imagine at this point.
Grade AAA genetics mean that even long past when other strains would have lost all flavor and potency the smoke is still enjoyable.
And I think that’s how I’ll end this little review, with a “it’s enjoyable”. I think on the whole, the infused blunt market is kind of experiencing it’s own coming of age within the larger cannabis segment as a hole.
The masses are waking up to the delight that is live rosin, you’re seeing more of it in edibles and it’s becoming one of the must-have ingredients in infused blunts.
The days of profiting off cheap distillate-sprayed floor trim are getting shorter and shorter. Badder, hash snake, moonrock infusions are what the market is getting excited about.
As such, Piff Stix has a bright future. I mean, just look at these intimidating looking THC-diamond dripping Snow Budz. WTF right? Nuts.
But wait, there’s more!
Piff Stix has their own Hash Holes line what was voted best solventless live rosin infused preroll in the 2022 Oregon Growers Cup and I believe it. With a live rosin worm in the center and a wood tip to wrap your crusty lips around I’m sure it’s a winner.
It’s one thing to make a powerful blunt but it’s also another thing to have good flower curation skills as well and that’s another thing I’d like to compliment Piff Stix on. Jokerz are amazing genetics from which to build your infused blunt off. They also had Cereal Milk and Oreoz “The Ooze” as well.
Conclusion: I’m a Fan
I’m definitely a fan and will be coming back for more in the future, so keep your eyes out for more Piff Stix reviews, although don’t hold your breath too long because I don’t have the stamina to be reviewing rosin infused blunts on the daily lol.
Are there even more premium options out there? Of course, I’m not denying that. I’ve seen some killer hand-roll craft work and am excited to dip my toes into those waters one day as well.
For the time being though, I’ll be looking forward to the next public holiday or special life event to commemorate with another infused blunt.
