After moving to beautiful Portland, Oregon, in 2018, I dove head-first into the deep, dank, decadent world of craft cannabis.
In my early days, while trying to research various cultivars, including their unique properties and effects, I quickly became disenchanted with what felt like the same reviews and descriptors being repeated over and over again on popular review websites.
Boo.
So I began keeping my own personal tasting notes, which then evolved into a Google Sheet, then a 20+ page running Google Doc, which became a bit unwieldy.
Ultimately, familiar with WordPress, I decided to just publish everything out in the open here at The Hallowed Gram, a website dedicated to the amazing, perhaps even divine, healing properties of the cannabis plant.

In terms of the who, what, and why, you can dig deeper into each of those below:
My name is Erik, and I live in the gorgeous state of Oregon in a town called Aloha (or Beaverton, depending on who you ask) within spitting distance of Portland proper, which is where I tend to source a majority of my sticky dank.
I’m a simple guy who likes to smoke top-shelf sticky, eat delicious food, and then geek out about said weed and food.
I also like to lift weights, cook, camp, garden, and read.
Stoners are active people too!

Opines, strain overviews, and the occasional gear/equipment review. I mostly consume within the Oregon recreational market but will occasionally visit other legal states like Nevada, Colorado, and Washington, sharing my experiences from these places as well.
In terms of personal taste, I value flavor and full effects, often via multiple modes of consumption such as lower-temp ball vaporizers (Terp Hammer), pocket vapes (PAX), traditional water bongs (Honest), and, of course, old-fashioned doobies!
Above all else, I value living soil, organic, and no-till cultivation practices. Oregon really excels in this regard, and I feel quite spoiled. If organic living soil bud isn’t available, I’ll partake in some carefully managed hydro as well.

What started as a simple way to record my tasting/smoking notes quickly snowballed into a rather exciting passion project where I could satiate my GIF addiction, creatively play with web design, and connect with other like-minded stoners.
After years of getting to know cannabis, I truly feel blessed to be able to blaze, which I try to encapsulate in the short brand moniker of Blessed2Blaze©.
To quote Carlos Lehder, “marijuana is for the people” (cocaine is for milking the rich), and so, here I am sharing my cannabis reviews in an effort to connect with others and hopefully even help patients and recreational consumers alike make better, more informed purchase decisions.
The Plant Speaketh Through Me
Authenticity, being 100% unabashedly one’s “self”, is I think at the core of stoner culture which is why the community is so damn diverse in terms of people, their opinions, their professions, their walks of life, their preferred forms of consumption, the list goes on.
One thing many of us share, though, is an appreciation for quality herb. I’m talking genetics patiently hunted over decades and plants cultivated with the love and care of a new parent.
To give this flower the respect it deserves, and to ensure maximal authenticity, I’m generally going to get pretty ripped whenever I’m writing for this blog.
The times I edit this blog not stoned comprise probably 1-5% of the time, and I only do so to remove some of the typos and inconsistencies that perpetually riddle these webpages.
But 95% of the time I’ll be putting finger to keyboard with my mind 10,000 feet in the sky above the cold mossy PNW clouds.
That’s why my strain reviews are so long; the weed has a lot to say!
I believe that to write a truly authentic strain review, one must be fully enveloped in the warm, sticky embrace of the genetics being described.
Doing things authentically, though, comes at a price. Trying to regularly publish a blog while high can be a challenge, given how potent much of today’s recreational cannabis is.
These challenges only strengthen my inner resolve, though, or so I like to think, so I will always plow on undeterred, no matter how many spelling and grammar errors I make along the way.

Fuck no.
Does The Hallowed Gram purport to provide legal advice?
Hell-to-the-fucking no.
Is The Hallowed Gram a news site?
It depends on what you consider news. Dropping a review on a hot new strain? Sure. Flexing my six-figure journalism degree that I don’t have to feel “elite”? Obviously fucking not.

Sure, but it will be clearly denoted as such. A man’s gotta eat.
Can I write for The Hallowed Gram?
If you are a marketing shill and want to write for SEO benefit or purely for self-promotion, then no, you cannot write for this website.
If you are genuinely passionate about cannabis and genuinely want to share that passion, then yes, please reach out!
Where is The Hallowed Gram based?
The Hallowed Gram is home-based in Aloha, Oregon, but I write from wherever I am, and I love to travel.
Is The Hallowed Gram an expert on cannabis?
That depends on where you are in your personal journey with cannabis. For the new converts, perhaps some content will seem expert-level.
For many veterans, on the other hand, it won’t.
The goal is to share information and ideas freely and without prejudice, with the goal of it helping someone, somewhere, at some point in time.
We’re all at different stages in our individual life (and cannabis) journeys.
As I consume my way through pounds on pounds of MJ, I always try my best to provide value by being as honest and descriptive as possible, but whether or not you find value in that is up to you.
Is The Hallowed Gram authoritative?
Ultimately, that question will be left to you, the reader, but I humbly do believe this website should be considered authoritative insofar as everything is transparent and authentic.
All reviews are done in good faith and with complete honesty. Any sponsored content is always clearly denoted as such.
If content is not clearly labeled “sponsored,” then it’s something I spent my hard-earned money on (which, at the time of writing this, is 100% of my content, equally thousands of dollars).
Is The Hallowed Gram trustworthy?
I’m an Eagle Scout; you can trust me.
