What Is The Hallowed Gram About?

If you recently landed on this site after Googling something, or perhaps you moseyed on over from that which shan’t be named but rhymes with “Winstafam,” you’re probably wondering, what the heck is a Hallowed Gram?

Well, before we get into specifics, I want to convey to you a very warm welcome to my weed blog, The Hallowed Gram!

First and foremost, all I desire out of this site is to connect to people who also love cannabis. Everything else is just gravy after that.

So, if you like to smoke, vape, eat, or drink cannabis and you think it’s pretty much the most fantastic thing, then you are among good company friends. Don’t be a stranger!

If you’re not in LOVE with cannabis and are more “canna-curious”, then you are also welcome in this digital space. Every person who loves cannabis today and may seem to be on cloud 10 started their journey as being canna-curious.

Heck, I’ve been toking for decades and still don’t know shit compared to many OGs out there. Always stay humble and always stay hungry for knowledge because knowledge is power, and some cliches do have value right?

In my opinion, cannabis is best when it is welcoming, respectful, and inclusive. Therefore, if you stumbled here just scratching a curiosity itch, I’d like to tempt you into taking your shoes off and staying a little while. What can we get you? Beer? La Croix? Hot tea?

Ultimately both experienced and inexperienced, new and old, dog lovers and enlightened cat lovers, we can all bask in our undying love for the good green plant.

What Makes Up Hallowed Gram?

Well, as for who is typing all this dope content, check out this Who page. As for how this website is structured, the main categories published are broken into a few distinct, high-level categories.

As the site grows (it’s just a hobby now), hopefully, the categories become even more refined, with more niche’d down sub-categories existing within main categories.

For now (and this will be updated if things change in the future), the main categories I’m publishing include the following:

1. Illuminations

Think of illuminations as a collection of various high thoughts, mental rabbit holes, and cultural provocations. These pieces will be more creative and freeform, allowing me to explore the parts of life on earth that cannabis overlaps with but which may not be immediately apparent.

If you’re traveling and stuck somewhere without access to the chronic, then hopefully, in spirit at least, the illuminations section will give you a place to go and mentally escape to a comfortingly high perspective.

2. Critiques

For lack of an exciting term, critiques will primarily function as reviews. Reviews of strains I’ve recently smoked, critiques of dispensaries and brands. Critiques will focus on products, particularly flower and edibles.

Perhaps one day you dab heads will seduce my soul, but for the time being, it’s da dank and eddies.

If you appreciate when friends let you know when they’ve stumbled on some particular gas, then the critiques section is for you because I like exotics a lot, embarrassingly so. So if you’re a flavor chaser, we hope to see you in the critiques!

Please note that I don’t publish on every single strain or edible I consume. If something isn’t great, it just doesn’t get written about. This way, you, the reader, get only the best of the best, and I also get to take the high road by staying positive and elevating only the brands and voices that I honestly believe deserve it.

3. Paraphernalia

Similar to critiques, paraphernalia will primarily cover discussions around cannabis accessories, including but certainly not limited to pipes, papers, bongs, vaporizers, stash jars, grinders, lighters, and maybe some other sneaky gear.

If anyone sends me anything for free, that will be clearly stated as such in every article because integrity is critical. When I buy things myself, I’ll mention that too. Transparency is critical to me.

If you are sick of burning your throat and inhaling large chunks of burning plant material because of the crap glass pipe you bought at a now-defunct head shop when you were in college, then this section may be of interest to you.

If you just like collecting dope-ass cannabis gear, this is also for you.

4. Exploration

In my personal opinion, exploration and adventure are core tenants of embracing the plant and maximizing its creative potential.

Yes, following insane tunnels down YouTube because you are couch-locked is fun, no doubt, but hiking a new forest trail stoned or exploring a bunch of tide pools at low tide on a beach are also very, VERY fun things to do with cannabis.

If you’re looking for some ideas to kick off your own imagination regarding what ELSE might be fun to do while high, then this section is for you.

If you just like travel and adventure but not weed so much, then this section is for you too. No judgments; the world should be explored by everyone in however they choose to take it in.

5. Chow (*coming soon!)

Munchies are often times like the summit of the high. You had a plan (mapped a route), bought and ground and rolled your plant (prepped your gear), and climbed the mountain (ripped that bong!), and now you’re here to claim your reward.

Whether or not that reward happens that manifests itself in the form of a peanut butter Eggo waffle stack or a simple 28oz Jamba Juice to sip on while enjoying your 30min massage chair in the mall, the sense of gastronomic climax associated with satiating a bad case of the munchies is unparalleled.

If you’ve heard someone say that being high just adds kind of a “makes-everything-better” filter over everything and also understand the pleasure that foodies derive from indulging, then the myriad of munchies explored in the Chow section will be for you.

***I’m really bad at documenting what I eat because I usually just inhale it so this is a part of the blog I intend to build out more in the future, I promise.

Additional Words of Warning

I don’t consider myself an expert on cannabis by any means and make a concerted effort to simply share what I find exciting and cool and let you, the reader take it or leave it.

You’ll be able to pretty quickly decide whether or not we vibe to the same pitch or if we tune into different sound wavelengths. Blogs come in all subject matter and all forms of opinion, so if this one isn’t your’s hey, that’s totally cool.

On the whole, though, this website is, in my mind, part light-hearted personal journal but also part olive leaf extension, a message in a bottle.

I must warn you, though, I’m a highly sarcastic individual who believes that in the grand scheme of the universe (or multiverses at that), we humans are relatively inconsequential, and thus, we ought to keep that in mind when we choose how to live our lives.

the hallowed gram

As such, I’m trying to enjoy my life while I’ve been gifted it. This means smoking as much quality cannabis as possible and dedicating all my free time to finding a meme for every emotion that may sweep over my pale ape body as I blaze face.

I will do my best to diligently correct anything that is in error. In return, I simply ask that you not take anything too seriously. I’m simply swimming in the ocean of cannabis culture, observing its beauty like a stoned snorkeler writing an underwater diary, and yes, underwater writing is a thing, a pretty fucking rad thing at that (check the wrist strap ones yooooooooooo)

Finally, I’m not putting an age gate on the entire site but will specifically call out here that when writing on cannabis specifically, I am writing to an expected 21+-year-old audience. There is legitimate scientific reasoning to be cautious regarding at what age cannabis is considered safe to consume, so don’t be dumb kids ruining it for everyone, ya hear!?

Seeing as the human brain is still developing well into our 20s, erring on the side of caution makes logical sense, given all the marvelous functions we rely on our brains for, including but obviously not limited to creativity, imagination, compassion, logic, reflection, creating life, delivering death, and that thing called memory.

Ultimately, I’m just a dude who is nostalgic for long-form blogs of yore who likes to get high and write about weed whilst high.

Blessed2Blaze©

For those of you bothering to read to the end of this, and for the skimmers too (because sometimes life gets busy, it’s all good), there is a little playlist below that I made for you.

Blessed2Blaze is the tagline for The Hallowed Gram blog because it’s important to give thanks. Thanks to the plant for producing such wonderfully complimentary chemistry. Thanks to the pioneers who made legal weed possible. Thanks to the hard-working breeders, farmers, and retail folks who get it from the ground to your grinder.

So let’s sit back, roll one up, and listen to some tunes that capture a little bit of this energy yeah?

The songs in this playlist were selected from some of my favorite electronic playlists I’ve compiled over the years. Each song brings exciting energy with it, as horrible of a cliche as that sounds..maybe it’s a vintage expression now?

Thinking about smoking weed and writing about weed always makes me excited, and I want to try to communicate that excitement to you in a way other than just words.

If you don’t like electronic music, I’m sorry. I’ll be embedding other custom playlists in other pieces throughout the site, so you might still find something that’s up your genre alley.

So without further adieu, I’d officially like to express a very big heartfelt thanks for visiting the site. Don’t be a stranger. We all need a little more connection a little more in our modern lives. Let’s light it up!
