Who’s Behind Hallowed Gram?

WELCOME! The Hallowed Gram is a geeky weed blog for all my righteous potheads looking to connect over a common love for dank and being blessed enough 2 be able to blaze.

Click around a bit, say “hi,” tell me what’s up in the numerous polls embedded around the site, and just make yourself at home.

As for who is behind The Hallowed Gram, currently, it’s just me. My name is Erik, and I’m an amateur foodie who likes smoking doobies. I like to smoke and chill and laugh, or at least those are where I focus in my free time.

Like so many people I’ve met who are super into weed I began my cannabis journey when everything was a complete mystery, chiefing no-name snaggletooth bud in the back of your friend’s van in an unnecessarily hurried adventure to watch the original Harold and Kumar.

Now, I live in Oregon, where it’s all legal, and it’s grown with pride and passion and it shows in the final product.

In terms of blazing preferences I’m an old fashioned joint man myself. Like the portability and honestly the flavor even though vaporizers like PAX or a Volcano undoubtedly taste the best. Here’s a list of my top 9 favorite strains of recent memory, to give you an idea of where my tastes lay.

In terms of smoking style I’m pretty social and like blazing up before going out on an adventure or while traveling.

From hiking to discovering new munchie-satiating dining options the applications for cannabis in my life is that of a type of sensation-heightening magnifying lens.

After realizing it’s actually cheaper for me to blaze top-shelf dank than it is to drink based on my previous lifestyle, well, I’ve been “hooked” since, but for many more reasons than just cost savings.

It’s the excitement I feel when walking into a dispensary, researching a new strain I’ve never heard of, lighting up with an old friend, and connecting with people from totally different life paths over a common appreciation of a pretty magical plant. A plant that I simply can’t get enough of and which I intend to document my journey of exploration right here within the e-pages of this ole blog!

So if you like fruity strains, smoking joints, and making ridiculously potent brownies then you’re in the right cyberspace.

If you like good food and adventure with a bit of kooky humor then again, welcome.

If you’re curious about the Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Colorado recreational markets then you may find something of interest.

If you like nature, travel, cooking, and electronic music then that’s cool too, I’ve got some of that and more coming.

If this shit ain’t your jam then well, hopefully I’ll either be able to change your mind or you’ll just not likely to have read this far anyways. Either way works for me.

Why Write a Weed Blog?

Well, first and foremost I’ve been journaling about weed for years now, ever since first setting foot in my first dispensary and seeing all the different strain names on the menu. I like to geek out about stuff and have been saving my dispensary labels to remember what I’ve smoked, if I liked it, why, etc.

So I’ve had a bunch of content for my own consumption just sitting in a mammoth sized Google Doc. I also like reading blogs. So publishing what effectively amounts to a journal in the form of a nerdy blog kind of made sense.

I do legitimately like long-form blogs. I lived through an era when blogs were THE thing. Full websites with first-hand experience and opinions on matters seem rarer and rarer, almost to the point of being “retro”.

In all honesty I do hope to connect with real people who share similar interests too, eventually, you know, IRL….

The Types of Cannabis You’ll Find Reviewed Here

If you’re allergic to hype, then you should know right now that I like hype strains. To me, hype strains are just popular strains and popular weed is generally pretty good weed.

If you love OGs and other classics, you have to have some sympathy because this is the journey all legendary bud goes through. Obscurity > Discovery > Hockey Stick > Multi-State > Classic > Refined Legend.

Do most genetics make it to OG or legendary status? Definitely not. But a lot of strains receive deserved hype on their own well-deserved merit.

Don’t forget also that pretty much everything that is a hybrid (so yeah, everything) was technically “new” at some point. There were probably Thai Stick diehards in the 80s who thought Northern Lights was a hype strain. Look how that turned out.

I’ve recently been dabbling more with the classics when I can find them, at least, so you’ll find some old friendly faces in my review roster, but even more so, you’ll find candy-sweet fruity flowery cakey self-indulgent dessert strains because I’ve got a sweet tooth and princess lungs apparently.

Regardless of how hyped or “classical” the cannabis all of the strain reviews found on this site were written under the supreme influence of the strain being analyzed within the writing, for maximum authenticity of course.

So, when you read about Maui Wowie, you’re reading a perspective that is actually being gently encouraged by the plant itself through its interaction with my endocannabinoid system.

Selfishly, this blog also functions as a journal for my own record keeping (because weed can make your short-term memory a bit slippery at times), but hopefully, if you’re curious about any of these strains or products I write about here, you may find more things of interest.

Or not. Haha. It’s all cool. Yeah. (checks watch)
