This blog is a collection of the rantings of an oft-stoned kook, trying to make some sense of the cosmos around him, while trying to have a few laughs (and joints) along the way.
That’s it.
It all began with a notebook where I kept personal tasting notes, which then evolved into a Google sheet, which then turned into a 20+ page running Google Doc, which then ultimately turned into this website.

In terms of the who, what, and why, you can dig deeper into each of those below:
My name is Erik, and I live in the gorgeous state of Oregon in a town called Aloha (or Beaverton depending on who you ask) within spitting distance of Portland proper, which is where I source a majority of my sticky dank.
I’m a simple guy who likes to smoke, eat, and vape weed and then geek out about said weed, in addition to lifting weights, cooking, camping, gardening, and reading.
For more on me as a person, author, and pothead, check out this more detailed “who” page.
Opines, strain overviews, and the occasional gear/equipment review. I consume mostly within the Oregon recreational market but will on occasion visit other legal states like Nevada, Colorado, and Washington.
In terms of personal taste, I value flavor quite highly, and then full effect. I value living soil, organic, and no-till cultivation practices, but will partake in some carefully managed hydro as well.

Often referred to as a “mission statement” in the business world (although here I prefer to think of it simply as an impetus), outside of wanting a more efficient way of documenting my experiences outside of a never-ending Google doc, I do truly feel blessed to be able to blaze freely.
As such “Blessed2Blaze©” has become a mission statement, reflective of being blessed to live in a state with so many amazing farms and subsequently, blessed to have so much cannabis abundance.
Feeling blessed also requires reflection on what it took to reach this state, to pay respect to those who worked to clear a path for legal consumption, and those still fighting today to normalize and rehabilitate those unfairly persecuted.
Writing here is a selfish pursuit of journaling but in doing so I hope to bring attention to all the amazing work the hard working folks in the cannabis industry are putting in to create truly exceptional plant medicine.

Letting The Plant Do The Speaking
Authenticity, being 100% unabashedly one’s “self”, is I think at the core of stoner culture which is why the community is so damn diverse in terms of people, their opinions, their professions, their walks of life, their preferred forms of consumption, the list goes on.
One thing many share though is an appreciation for quality herb. I’m taking genetics patiently hunted over decades and plants cultivated with the love and care of a new parent.
To give this flower the respect it deserves, and to ensure maximal authenticity, I’m generally going to get pretty ripped whenever I’m writing for this blog.
The times I edit this blog not stoned comprise probably 1-5% of the time and I only do so to remove some of the typos and inconsistencies that perpetually riddle these webpages.
But 95% of the time I’ll be putting finger to keyboard with my mind 10,000 feet in the sky above the cold mossy PNW clouds.
That’s why my strain reviews are so long, the weed has a lot to say!
I believe to write a truly authentic strain review one must be fully enveloped in the warm sticky embrace of the genetics being described.
Doing things authentically though come at a price. Trying to regularly publish a blog while high can be a challenge, given how potent much of today’s recreational cannabis is.
These challenges only strengthen my inner-resolve though, or so I like to think, so I will always plow on undeterred, no matter how many spelling and grammar errors I make along the way.

That depends on where you are in your personal journey with cannabis. For the new converts, perhaps some content will seem expert-level.

We’re all at different stages in our individual life (and cannabis) journeys.
As I consume my way through pounds on pounds of MJ I always try my best to provide value by being as honest and descriptive as possible, but whether or not you find value in that is up to you.
Is The Hallowed Gram authoritative?
Ultimately that question will be left to you, the reader, but I humbly do believe this website should be considered authoritative in so far as everything is transparent and authentic.
All reviews are done in good faith and with complete honesty. Any sponsored content is always clearly denoted as such.
If content is not clearly labelled “sponsored” then it’s something I spent my hard earned money on (which at time of writing this is 100% of my content equally thousands of dollars).
